Welcome to the Southam College website.I hope that you find this website of interest and that it answers many of your initial questions about the college. At Southam College we aim to prepare students for their future by providing them with the confidence, skills and qualifications to be successful lifelong learners. Students thrive at our 11-18 school and are encouraged to not only develop their own talents but also learn the importance of contributing to the local community. In our last Ofsted Report (FEB 2008), we were described as a good and improving college with some outstanding features. Students achieve highly in both GCSE and A level examinations and we are consistently in the top 20% of schools nationally. Education at the school is enhanced by its status as a High Performing Specialist School with specialisms in Technology, Humanities and Applied Learning. The success of the school is further highlighted through gaining the Healthy Schools standard (June 2009) and acquiring extensive funding from the Football Foundation for a state of the art sports facility. In addition, all subject areas have benefited from additional resources due to rising student numbers so that all students enjoy a pleasant and well equipped site. A talented and dedicated staff have created a caring and focussed learning ethos within which every student is challenged and supported to achieve the very best they can. We encourage all students to get involved in every aspect of school life and there is a strong programme of extra curricular activities. This includes termly music, dance and drama productions, a thriving house system and an extensive programme of evening and weekend sporting fixtures for all years. I hope this website gives you a flavour of the community ethos which exists at Southam College where every student is valued for their individual ability. To find out more, please do not hesitate to contact us. We particularly welcome visits to our school.
